“POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT
HIGH SPEED DATA TRANSFER FOR INTERACTIVE
MULTIMEDIA SERVICES”
MWS represents a valid complement to existing
"wired" broadband technologies,
in order to rapidly extend multimedia
services; fast rollout, easy deployment
with scalable configurations and trimmed
capital expenditures (CAPEX) represent
the most attractive features of this architecture.
Moreover, MWS guarantees absolute access
independence from PSN (Public Switched
Network) for Multimedia Service Providers
and simplifies the Terminal Station interconnection
and customer linking.
UNI.COM presents a complete multimedia
wireless product line to address the last
mile access requirements for both residential
and business customers. Multimedia Wireless
System (MWS) and Multipoint Video Distribution
System (MVDS) are now delivered according
to MWS fixed services as required by the
European Radiocommunications Committee
(ERC).
MWS-40 operates over the harmonized frequency
band of 40,5 ÷ 43,5 GHz as designated
for the introduction of Interactive Multimedia
Services (IMS) in Europe (ERC/DEC/(99)15).
Two-way high speed data channels can be
added for providing telecommunication
services according to Cable-Network data
system standards for HFC networks: DVB/DAVIC
or DOCSIS. Multiple in-band return channels
guarantee Interactive Multimedia Services
for several thousands subscribers per
cell as for example:
